Select Active Channels

After inviting the bot, you need to tell it which channels to monitor. BestChatBot will only respond to messages in channels you explicitly enable.

Using the Channel Manager

1

Open Channel Management

In your dashboard, navigate to the Channel Management section from the sidebar.
2

View Your Channels

You’ll see a grid of all text channels in your Discord server. Each channel is displayed as a card showing the channel name.
3

Toggle Channels On or Off

Click on a channel card to enable or disable it. Enabled channels are highlighted, and the bot will respond to messages in those channels.

Start with one or two low-traffic channels to test the bot before enabling it everywhere.
4

Use Bulk Selection (Optional)

If you want the bot active in many channels, use the Select All option to enable everything at once. You can then deselect specific channels you want to exclude.

How the Bot Behaves in Channels

Once a channel is active:
  • The bot reads every new message in that channel
  • If the message looks like a question the bot can answer, it responds automatically
  • The bot does not use slash commands. It responds to regular messages naturally
The bot is helpful without being intrusive. It won’t respond to every message. It only jumps in when it has relevant knowledge to share.

Channel Categories Not Shown

The channel manager only shows text channels. Voice channels, announcement channels, and forum channels are not listed because the bot can only respond in standard text channels.
